“理科教授研究會考案 佐久間文吾實物寫生 教育標本 害蟲繪葉書 第一輯 （六枚一組） 此繪葉書は教育上の「不備を補はん為め實際の」要求に迫られて作りたるものにして一時娯樂の用に供するものとは大に趣を異にせり。而して各圖とも博物畫に妙を得たる佐久間畫伯が特別に其技倆を揮ひ一々實物に就て寫生せられたるを更に専門學者の檢閲を受け之を「日本一の」東京印刷會社に托して念入に製版印刷したるものなれば實物と比較して寸分違はざる完全無缺のものなり。「されば農學校を始め中等程度の學校に必要なるは言ふに及ばず尚國定教科書に連絡したる部分は小學生にも必要なるものなり。」”
